Sigma has introduced the Sigma 135mm f/1.4 DG DN | Art, the first autofocus 135mm f/1.4 prime lens designed for full frame mirrorless cameras. The lens is available for preorder now.
Positioned as a professional portrait lens, the 135mm f/1.4 Art aims to deliver high resolution, smooth bokeh, and strong subject separation. Sigma emphasizes that the lens is the longest focal length in its Art f/1.4 series for mirrorless systems.
The optical construction includes 17 elements in 13 groups, with four FLD and two aspherical elements to suppress chromatic aberrations and maintain sharpness across the frame. Sigma has also incorporated a floating focus system for consistent resolution across the focusing range.
Autofocus is driven by a dual HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) motor system, with each focus group powered independently for faster and more precise subject tracking.
The lens follows the robust build of Sigma’s Art line, featuring a dust- and splash-resistant design, a water- and oil-repellent front coating, and metal components reinforced with engineering plastics. It also includes user-friendly controls: a de-clickable aperture ring, lock switch, AFL buttons in two positions, and a focus mode switch.
A detachable magnesium alloy tripod collar compatible with Arca-Swiss clamps is included, and the lens ships with a carbon-fiber reinforced hood, protective cover, pouch, and shoulder strap.
